Furniture made in Bad Liebenwerda
With diverse manufacturing competencies and state-of-the-art technology, REISS products are sustainably manufactured where they are developed, at the company locations in Bad Liebenwerda.
Chiefly wood
In our state-of-the-art Plant 2 with batch size 1 wood production and final assembly, our REISS products are given their final shape and prepared for dispatch.
Automation and Ergonomics
Optimised cutting of components, application of edgebanding via glue or zero-jointing, drilling and dowelling – everything is fully automated. Ergonomic manual workstations integrate manual or semi-automated work steps into the production line.
Packaging and Shipping
At the end of the process that began in Plant 1, the REISS product is packed in Plant 2 and prepared for its transport to the user.
Metal Base
We manufacture frames, bases, accessories and other metal parts for our furniture in our modern metalworking centre Plant 1.
Laser Cutting, Punching, Bending, Welding
Thanks to digitalised processes with direct CAD/CAM integration of the machine tools, we produce in an efficient and resource-saving manner.
Powder Coating
The metal parts for our furniture are given the perfect coat of paint in our in-house powder coating department.
Metal processing with a long tradition
The history of REISS is strongly associated with office products. We create working worlds. And we have always done this with an in-house metal processing unit. Whereas more than 100 years ago it was precision mechanics and frame elements for drafting technology, today it is frames and accessories for our modern desk systems and cabinets that we manufacture in our metal processing unit.
Constant investment in state-of-the-art production facilities and digitalisation, as well as the training and continuous development of our employees, enables us to produce highly individualised metal components for a wide range of requirements. This makes us incredibly flexible in product development and fast in implementing them.
Technologies and Processes
Laser cutting
We work with 2D laser cutting machines from TRUMPF. The TruLaser L3030 fibre and TruLaser TRUMATIC L3030 flatbed lasers are high-speed laser cutting machines for processing flat sheets with high precision.
material | mild steel up to 20 mm stainless steel up to 20 mm aluminium up to 20 mm copper up to 8 mm |
max. sheet format | 3,000 x 1,500 mm |
max. workpiece weight | 1,100 kg |
max. laser power | 4 kW |
position deviation | ±0.05 mm |
laser gas | oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide |
Laser tube cutting
We process tubes and profiles using the TRUMPF TruLaser Tube 5000. The machine has four programmable axes. A capacitive height control keeps the distance between the cutting head tip and the part constant.
material | mild steel |
wall thickness | 0.8 – 6.4 mm |
max. finished part length | 3,000 mm |
round square rectangle (cross sections) |
Ø 20 mm – Ø 150 mm 20 mm x 20 mm – 120 mm x 120 mm 20 mm x 20 mm – max. outer circle diameter – Ø 150 mm |
max. initial workpiece weight | 120 kg |
max. finished part weight | 20 kg/m |
Punching and nibbling
Our TRUMPF TruPunch 5000 is a punching-nibbling machine for processing flat sheets. In addition to cutting, this machine also allows us to carry out a wide range of metal shaping processes, such as threads, beading, gills or extrusions.
max. sheet thickness | 0.5 – 8.0 mm |
max. sheet format | 1,500 x 1,000 mm |
max. punching force | 220 kN |
features | threads, beading, gills, extrusions |
Bending
With the TRUMPF TruBend 5085 and TruBend 7036 bending machines, we are very flexible in the production of a wide variety of bent parts thanks to the 6-axis backgauge. The ACB (Automatically Controlled Bending) angle measuring system guarantees high angular accuracy for perfect dimensional accuracy of the finished parts.
TRUMPF TruBend 5085
press force | 850 kN |
bending length | 2,720 mm |
TRUMPF TruBend 7036
press force | 360 kN |
bending length | 1.020 mm |
MAG welding
Metal active gas (MAG) welding
- manually – manual workstations
- welding robot, with swivel/rotary table for processing on both sides
Surface treatment
iron phosphatation | |
powder coating | part dimensions (LxWxH): 2,000 x 800 x 1,000 mm
workpiece weight: ca. 125 kg |
Further processing options
- drilling/countersinking
- flowdrill
- thread cutting/forming
- simple assembly of components
Wood processing – advantage through technology
In wood processing and final assembly, we work highly automated today with digitalised processes in batch size 1 mode. Manual or semi-automatic work steps are directly integrated into the processes. This allows us to manufacture efficiently and in a resource-saving and highly flexible manner at the same time. Individual customer requirements can thus be easily integrated into production planning and quickly implemented.
Technologies and Processes
Cutting of parts
The cutting of parts is done fully automatically, optimised for cutting, via a parts preview of the production orders in the system. Leftover panels are returned to the panel store for follow-up orders. Scraps that cannot be reused are recycled thermally for hot water generation and heating of the building.
Edge banding
The parts are automatically pre-sorted for edge banding and an optimal sequence is defined. This guarantees an efficient edge banding process, regardless of the method used, glue or zero joint.
Special solutions
In the processing centre for contoured plates, we cut, mill and edge round, oval or asymmetrical parts for further processing.
Cabinet production
On the cabinet production line, the parts pass through all production steps fully or partially automated, from drilling and dowelling to setting the fittings and final assembly by the employees. Single work steps for fixtures or, for example, roller shutter cabinets are carried out at manual workstations designed for this purpose.
Table production
Table assembly takes place step by step on assembly lines. Parts and materials are provided on an order-related basis at the individual stations.
Selected table programmes are assembled in one piece at dedicated assembly stations.
